Jun 04   Qigong Essentials and Beginning Tai Chi for Memory for Older Adults with Celeste Graves
This new, 75-minute class will include a (slightly) shortened version of Medical Qigong for Older Adults and an introduction to Dr. Paul Lam’s, “Tai Chi for Memory”.

Qigong is a program of simple yet profound exercises taken from the ancient Taoist traditions and Chinese medical system. By coordinating breath and movement in enjoyable, easy to learn patterns and stretches, we move together towards optimum health and well-being.

About the instructor: Celeste Graves MA, C-IAYT, Board Certified Instructor and Senior Trainer, Tai Chi for Health Institute: Moving for Health has long been Celeste’s personal and professional theme.

Class is intended for older adults, 55+. Wear comfortable clothing. Contact library to register; space is limited. Must commit to full series for 6-weeks. Free.

A youth musical jam session! Bring your own instrument (and any power supply/batteries and such) and let’s start making some music! We have an electric piano and a full drum-set on hand. This is an informal, fun way to make music together. Led by Program Coordinator, Laura.

This is not an instructional session; participants should have some skill with their chosen instrument(s).

For ages 10-17. No need to sign up, just come by!

Jun 22   Opening Reception for Summer Exhibitions at Hessel Museum of Art & CCS Bard Galleries
For its summer 2019 season, the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College (CCS Bard) will present the first U.S. solo museum exhibitions of work by Leidy Churchman and Nil Yalter, along with "Acting Out," a show curated in collaboration with artist Leigh Ledare including work by artists from the Marieluise Hessel Collection such as Larry Clark, Lyle Ashton Harris, Nan Goldin, Lorraine O'Grady, & Cindy Sherman. Join the public opening reception Saturday June 22; the exhibitions remain on view through October 13, 2019.
