Funny, but True! A workshop series for youth with author and teacher, Thomm Quackenbush
Join us for a youth workshop series to shows you how to craft true and entertaining stories from your life! The goal is to be able to tell your stories without any notes by tapping into your writing and acting skills. You will also learn how to record, add sound effects, and edit your story using Audacity software to record your own podcast.
Sessions happen once a month on the second Saturday for three months, until August. Sign up is required, must commit to all three sessions, and there is no fee. For 8th-11th graders.
The workshop will conclude with a Story Slam happening in front of a live audience at the Enchanted Café in Red Hook, NY at 7484 S Broadway on Friday, September 22, 2017 @ 6:00pm-7:00pm.
This workshop series and event is made possible by: Stewart’s Holiday Match Grant.
Thomm Quackenbush is an author and teacher in the Hudson Valley. Double Dragon publishes his Night's Dream series. He has sold jewelry in Victorian England, confused children as a mad scientist, filed away more books than anyone has ever read, and tried to inspire the learning disabled, adjudicated, and gifted. When not writing, he can be found biking, hiking the Adirondacks, grazing on snacks at art openings, and keeping a straight face when listening to people tell him about interstellar beings. http://www.xenex.org.
